I woke up to a loud THUD today...followed by a half hearted, irritated cry from you. Yep. You climbed out of your crib and had a little bit of a crash landing. You just need to STOP growing right now!
03.01.12We were at the store today picking up a few groceries. Being slightly inexperienced at this, Da Da handed you a package of english muffins to hold while we finished shopping. It didn't take you very long. We looked over to find that you had chewed your way through the package and you were eating one of the muffins!! You are a little rat Maxers!
02.28.12You finally started saying I love you! It's possible you've been saying it for awhile now, but it took us until just recently to figure it out. It's adorable and heart melting. We say, "I love you Max!" and you reply, "I you." Makes perfect sense to me.
02.27.12Tonight at dinner you and Zo were gobbling down the roll we had given you. I commented to Daddy that you guys must really love my rolls! I then look over to see Zoey start "rolling" her hands like we do in patty cake! It didn't take long for you to catch on and you were rolling right along with her asking for more roll!
02.21.12We went grocery shopping today and at the checkout the cashier gave you a thing of smarties. This wasn't the first time, it's something they do pretty much every time we go. The difference was that today, instead of being content just holding your little sugary treasure and waiting patiently for me to open it once we were in the car, you began gnawing on the package. I didn't think anything of it until after I paid I looked and the entire thing was gone! I thought for sure you had swallowed it plastic and all. Luckily I found a very slobbery, and almost empty smarties wrapper inside your cute little mouth. You never cease to amaze me!
02.20.12We were practicing saying names tonight in preparation for this weekend when we go to Boise for William's birthday party. You mastered Eric (with a very HARD c at the end), and Josh. Abbie was pronounced "baby," which is fair, they sound very similar, but my absolute FAVORITE was William. His name, according to you, is now "Num Num." SO CUTE!
02.18.12Your very first sentence: Zoey is climbing up on the chair that I have repeatedly told her not to. I look over and see her, start to say her name, and you just take over the reprimand! You sternly wag your finger at her and say, "NO! Get down!" You are a very smart boy...and have probably heard that phrase WAY too many times!!
02.07.12Lately you have been climbing out of your crib and into Zoey's to harass her during nap time. We are repeatedly going in to find you jumping on her or poking her while she's trying to fall asleep. Every time we come in you immediately go limp and pretend to be sleeping...obviously we do not fall for it being as you are normally in mid attack. My absolute favorite though was when Daddy walked in to find you half way over the crib railing and you went dropped and pretended to sleep suspended half way in your crib and half in Zo's, with your little bum straight in the air. You are absolutely ridiculous!
02.05.12Today we had some friends over to watch the Super Bowl with us. They have a little boy who is about 4 months old. You got to hold him, I think this was the first time you've ever held a baby. You LOVED it! You held him so softly and said, "oh cute!" and kept kissing his little head. You were so in love. Even after you were done holding him you kept squeezing your arms against your chest saying, "oh baby!" You're a sweet little boy!
02.03.12We caught you trying to poop today in the bath tub. We immediately pulled you out and plopped you on the big boy potty! You were really confused and of course no longer needed/wanted to poop. Of course. So Daddy and I sat next to you, holding you so you didn't fall in, and tried to convince you to go. You had NO clue what we wanted you to do but really enjoyed imitating the noises we were making. ha ha You are adorable...but not quite ready for potty training. I can't wait to get rid of diapers!! BUT I am probably a little premature in hoping for any success from you on the toilet. I suppose you can just be my baby a little longer :)
02.02.12I've been trying really hard to get you to say "I love you." I know one day you will just say it will just be the cutest thing ever...but I am impatient and relentlessly ask you so say it to me. Today when I asked you to you grabbed my face and gave me a big slobbery kiss on my nose. Enough said. You don't even need words to tell me you love me! But I won't be upset when you do finally say it!!
You really love your puppy dog. Today he was laying between us on the couch and I was petting him. You grabbed my hand and threw it away from him so YOU could pet him. Just a little possessive!

Today you spent the day running around and playing with Zuleka. You were so funny to watch. You really believe that you are WAY older than you really are and get along so well with older kids! Probably partly because you are so ridiculously HUGE!! But she adores you and you think she is the greatest thing ever. Oh you are just growing up too fast!

Today after you had finished your snack you started crying. It seemed like a sincere cry and Daddy came to see what was wrong since I was baking cookies in the kitchen. When he asked you what you needed you just pointed at me. Once in my arms, you were quite content. You make me feel very special Max. I love you just as much!!
Later when I left to go to my Achievement Days activity you were absolutely and completely devastated. Big alligator tears and pitiful cries as you tried to wrap your arms around my neck. Broke my heart. When I came home an hour later and walked in the door you just looked up and said, "oh hi." ha ha I guess I expected a more enthusiastic greeting since my farewell was so heart wrenching!
In the bath tonight you were playing and suddenly looked up, gave me a HUGE grin and sweetly said, "hi!" Oh I love you, I love you, I LOVE you!
You are a genius baby! You have already started playing pretend... and in my opinion, you are way to young to do that! A few weeks ago you found a toy measuring spoon and an empty yogurt container on the ground (tongue cleaned by the Morkie) and started pretending to eat from it. You even pretended to feed Zoey! Then yesterday you picked up a doll and laid her head on your shoulder, very much the way you have been insisting I hold you lately, and rocked her just like I do for you. So sweet. This morning I glanced over to find you walking Dora around on the kitchen table and babbling to her about who knows what. It was a very animated conversation. You have quite the little imagination and I cannot wait to see what else you come up with!!! Just stay out of mischief!!
01.20.12The past couple of mornings when I go to get you up out of your crib, you have insisted that I hand you thepaci you had thrown on the ground. You then proceed to put it in your mouth, say "night night" and lay back down in your crib, pretending you are going back to sleep. You are so silly Max!
01.18.12Today you and Zo were playing in your dinosaur tent and managed to collapse it. I asked Zoey to bring it to me so I could fix it, but Zo, who still struggles a little with her limited vocabulary, brought me everything in the room BUT the tent! It was pretty funny, but you didn't seem to find it very amusing. You watched from the other side of the room until you had finally had enough. Looking a little annoyed and slightly confused as to why this task was so difficult, you huffed over, grabbed the tent I had been requesting, and handed it to me. I guess if you want something done right you'll just have to to do!
01.17.12You keep de-pantsing yourself Max! For some reason you must have a vendetta against pajama pants lately because every morning you seem to be pantless! Lately, when we see that you had taken them off, we ask you, "Where are your pants Max?? Why aren't your pants on? Where did you put your pants??" You look startled and look down in "surprise" when you discover that yes, your pants are missing! You then proceed to search for the missing apparel, as if you don't know exactly what happened and where they are. You are getting too smart!! Feigning innocence... what are we to do...
01.16.12Today Zoey was crying on the couch and you proceeded to give Zoey your zippy cup. Once you handed it to her you smiled and said, "thank you!" You are one very polite little guy!
01.15.12We went to see Gammy and Gampy tonight. While we were there you found some packing material, plastic filled with air. As you playing with it started calling it a "balloon!" You are so very clever. I have no idea how you came up with it, it's not like we have balloons hanging around the house, but you are so smart!
01.14.12Today we were cuddling on the couch watching TV with a puppy sitting in our laps. You suddenly leaned over and pet Tucker and said, "baby." Apparently you believe that he is a baby, not a puppy! He is very little... so you had the right idea!
01.13.12You have also been very congested today and managed to almost completely coat your cute little face with mucus during your nap! Gross!! I mean your fury little eye brows were plastered in crazy directions on your face! But I loved on you anyway. Just because I love you SO much!
We bundled you guys up and decided to get some fresh air! We went to the park next door and swung on the swings. You are so cute. The whole time you just kept saying, "weeee!" Oh how I love you.

I took you and Zo shopping today and then when Dad got out of class we invited him to meet us at Dairy Queen for an ice cream date! I'm not sure what it was about you two today but you got SO MUCH attention from everyone we came in contact with! Also, you have learned just how powerful the word "hi" can be when said in such a sweet little voice. It gets the attention of ANYONE you want to talk to. It hasn't failed you yet. Smart boy. You have grown so big that now no one assumes you and Zo are twins anymore. Makes it a bit more complicated to explain your ages than before... maybe I should start saying that you are 2 and Zoey is 1. That would be all too believable since you are SO HUMONGOUS!!!
You are getting to be MUCH too smart Max! This morning after I had changed your diaper and set you loose on the world, I was in the middle of changing Zo and heard the TV click on... on cartoons no less. Then is gradually became louder and louder until I was able to rush out to stop you. When I came out I found you sitting comfortably on the couch holding the remote and watching your show. You are a trouble maker!
This evening you did something ridiculously smart. So smart Dad and I had a little trouble even believing you did it intentionally! The toy you were playing with was snatched away by Zoey. Instead of battling for it, or just crying (which is what normally happens) I guess you decided to outsmart the little imp! You immediately went and found the toy that she had abandoned for yours, began playing with it, and the moment she showed interest in it (which of course didn't take long since you guys always want whatever the other one has) you calmly handed it to her and went back to your original stolen toy. Wow you amaze us! If you half the things you do on purpose you are a genius!!
